Engine Rebuild IV

Managed to get the engine all assembled and turning over on the starter to get the oil through the system, so can now be mothballed for a while whilst some design work gets done.

Successful lowering of the block via planks and ropes, then got the cylinder head & timing gear connected up.

Some more re-built, pistons in, timing chain, oil pump and timing gear in the cylinder head fitted. The engine needs taking off the stand and onto blocks before I will fit the head, otherwise it is too heavy to take it off the engine stand without a crane, which would not fit in the room. So I will make a trolley and lumps of timber to lower the engine from the stand in stages. I want to get the clutch plate and starter fitted to allow it to be primed with oil through the system, before it is mothballed again.

Engine re-building

Started building up the engine, crank shaft in, next up pistons. This will take a few days as i'll be doing it during the evenings, and its been a few years since it came apart, so will take a little figuring out which box the various bits are in.
